We continued north and then east on Highway 180 which would take us to the Kings Canyon. Here we are at an overlook. The Kings Canyon is visible in the distance at center. |

After descending on a winding road, we arrive at the entrance to the Kings Canyon.

We're in the canyon now!
The South Fork Kings River runs through the canyon. We went on a short hike alongside the river. |

We drove to apltly named Road's End, then parked near Zumwalt Meadow and hiked the River Trail a short ways.

We had dinner at Grant Grove Village and then drove to our Airbnb outside the park. It was fairly close to the Grant Grove Village entrance, but accessible only by winding road. We knew beforehand there were no food places in the vicinity so that's why we had dinner in Grant Grove Village. Here is a shot of our Airbnb which sat on the hillside and had great views to the south and west. |

As you might expect, the sunset was awesome.

The Airbnb inside. Very rustic and comfortable.
